Reading In Custom Picklist Values from Blog Posts data

Hello,

We have added some multi select fields to the back-end for blog posts. We have specified options for these items in the back-end as well (when I refer to the back-end, I mean that I went into Blogs > Fields for Blog Posts to specify these new fields). I need to get the list of available values for the blog post. Has anyone done this in the past, or are we going to have to parse through the xml files manually to expose this information?
