In-line editing and permissions

Hello,

We have some pages that we'd like to enable in-line editing for specific users, but we only want to allow the user to be able to edit certain content blocks on the page. We've set up permissions on the page and template so that the user can't edit content blocks in the page template, but the problem is that the "Edit" link still shows up next to those blocks.

If the user clicks on them he can make changes, but since he doesn't have the right permissions those changes aren't saved. It's pretty confusing to have those edit links there for content that's not editable for that user though. Is there some configuration that I'm missing, or a way to hide the edit links on widgets that a user doesn't have permission to change?

 There's no setting by default to change this. If you can afford me some time I will look into a possible workaround.

 Unfortunately we were unable to resolve to a viable workaround for this issue. I have created a PITS item where you and members of the community can vote to improve the visibility of this issue.
