Javascript Load Error - Sitefinity - Front- & Back-End Development

I am running Sitefinity 5.4 currently and when i load custom Javascript files, that are internal and not external, Sitefinity tells me Jquery is not defined so these things do not load. I have seen a few posts on this but am still not sure how to fix this or if this is fixed in 6.0

Hi Ian,

When you want to use jQuery you need to load it explicitly on the page, preferably from our dlls, like discussed in this blog post:
