Blog URL Structure

I am developing  website that has multiple top-tier blog categories and I would like to create a URL structure that will allow for the following:

example.com/resources/blog  - All blog posts
example.com/resources/blog/category1/2014/02/19/my-sample-post - Single item after clicking on a post from the all posts view

example.com/resources/blog/category1 - All blog posts relating to category1

If I create a /resources/blog/category1 page, add blog posts to that are filtered by category1, clicking through from the list i get example.com/resources/blog/category1/category1/2014/02/19/my-sample-post

Am I missing something?
