Posting Data to Existing Server Database

Hi,

I am fairly new with Sitefinity and currently preforming an internship (Web Development) with my University.

I am looking for documentation, or guidance on the following:

• Connecting to an external(by external I'm referring to different server) database that currently holds form data.
• Ability to post data to that "external" database using the existing Sitefinity web form builder.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Michael,

One option is to create a control for importing / exporting db content. You need first to establish connection just like in any ASP .Net application, then using our API article to create or query forms.

Another option is to use CSV Importer for Sitefinity, but please note that this is third party tool and if you experience issues with it, you can contact the vendor for assistance.
