SF7: Index external documents in Search - Sitefinity - Front- & Back-End Development

We have a folder of documents on the file system (PDF, DOC, XLS, etc) that live outside of Sitefinity. There is a large number of these documents and do not want to import them into Sitefinity at this time. However, we would like for these to appear in our search results. Is this possible?

Hello Jonathan,

Out of the box this is not offered, but possible solution could be to implement a custom search pipe - similar query was already discussed in this forum thread: Include external websites in Sitefinity search indexes.
