How do you set meta description of the page to the text on the page?

I need to be able to set the meta description of each page so that when someone posts a link on Facebook the description under the title pulls in the lines of text from the page. I've attached an image of what I'm talking about. I need the text from the page to show up below the ArtsWave title. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I found that putting http://www.theartswave.org pulled in the description when posting the link on Facebook.

http://theartswave.org does not.

Hi Greg,

I have tried both with and without www and on my end there is no difference. In both cases description is displayed properly.
