Override initial values in MVC widget designer

Is it possible to override initial values in MVC widget designers, ignoring the actual value stored in that field?

I have an MVC widget with a public property called "PageTitle".  When the user edits the widget I want to insert the actual page title into the textbox, rather than the value stored for "PageTitle".
