Add custom provider or maybe manager for dynamic module

Hi,

Is there a way to create dynamic module from module builder and then create my custom provider only for that dynamic module. I want custom provider so i can connect to external non sitefinity database to get data for example. Or i have to  create custom module with thunder and then write my provider. I am using sitefinity 9.2.
