Like the new changes in 4.0 so far. Some questions though that I haven't seen asked yet.

1. We've made edits to some of the Sitefinity control templates to add custom links and such to News, Events etc. Would there be support for this going forward?

2. A lot of the sites built lately have been using MySQL for the database. Will there be MySQL support?

3. I read in another post that we will have the ability to handle multiple sites in a single Sitefinity instance. Is the pricing going to remain the same?

4. Didn't see much in the way of creating the equivalent of modules in the developer manual. Is there more more documentation on how to do this? Any change of an 'auto admin' for the content types that are created? This would be a huge timesaver when building sites.

Can't wait to see the beta.

Hello Jason Sypolt,

1. We've made edits to some of the Sitefinity control templates to add custom links and such to News, Events etc. Would there be support for this going forward?

We will support this, currently it is not impelmented. We will have this feature for sure.

2. A lot of the sites built lately have been using MySQL for the database. Will there be MySQL support?

We will provide support for

  • SQL
  • Microsoft SQL Azure
  • MySQL
  • Oracle
3. I read in another post that we will have the ability to handle multiple sites in a single Sitefinity instance. Is the pricing going to remain the same?

We will support this out of the box. The total price and the licensing of the product is still in consideration so we are not able to provide you any information.

4. Didn't see much in the way of creating the equivalent of modules in the developer manual. Is there more more documentation on how to do this? Any change of an 'auto admin' for the content types that are created? This would be a huge timesaver when building sites.

We will provide more samples and documentation topics for the beta. There will be a designer for modules that will allow you to create them from the UI directly instead of working programmatically through VS.

Best wishes,
