How did everything get embedded?

SF 3.x had so many ascx files allover the place...

Did everything have to be converted to pure code in Render or did the ascx layouts themselves somehoe get embedded into the dll?

Hello Steve,

In 4.0 the templates will be also embedded into dlls. There will be two options when you want to customize a template

1. You will be able to modify the template layout directly from the backend.

2. The second option will work in the same way as it works in 3.7 - you will be able to map a template and modify it.

So you guys embedded the ascx files into the DLL as resources?

Hello Steve,

For 4.0 there is a separate dll which holds all templates -Telerik.Sitefinity.Resources.dll. All templates are build as embedded resources
