Wiki Support and images

Two quick questions:
1) Will version 4 have support for Wikis (all major features in 3.7)?
2) Will you be able to add images via cut/paste or must they all be in the image manager first - one nice feature with the Wikis in 3.7 is the abilty to copy/paste.

Hi topry,

The CTP does not include Wiki module. We shipped the CTP only with some of the basic modules. We are going to extend the  Content in Sitefinity 4.0 and we are considering possible implementation for the Wiki. For managing the content, most probably we will use RadEditor control which supports Cut/Copy/Paste . If the content has <img tag it will be added to the Content area of the RadEditor control and your image will be shown.

All the best,

If such changes are being considered for the Wiki Module, and other modules, what does this mean for the upgrade path?

Will existing Sitefinity 3.x sites be safe to upgrade and will the process be seamless?

Jacques

Hi J.Hoventer,

We are going to implement a way to upgrade older version websites to the new one. Also we are going to create wrappers so that older version modules be run on those upgrade websites without reimplementing those modules to the new architecture.

Hello ,

We implemented lists, shared content and newsletters. The Wiki won't be implemented before Q3. It is currently not scheduled.

Kind regards,

Hello Tim,

At this point there is no Wiki module in Sitefinity's latest release.

Ivan,

I think it would nice if you could use wiki syntax when you are in inline edit mode in Sitefinity.  If I add a content block, or for that matter any widget that works in inline edit mode, allow the user to  use wiki syntax.  Thoughts?

Hello all,

@Tim,

I agree this would be a useful feature, but for the time being we do not have it implemented. Feel free to log it in our Feedback Portal as a feature request for our future releases. We will evaluate it and decide whether to include it in our product.
