Remove Umlauts from URL Names
Hi
While playing with SF 4 I noticed that when I enter page names that contain umlauts öäü that these umlauts will show in the URL. I know that basically Umlauts should be allowed for an URL but I think there are cases where this will probably lead to problems. The same is also true for French special characters like ç and the like.
I think best would be to replace them with their closest ASCII character.

Hello Jörg ,
Thank you for using our services.
Some of the reasons that we are allowing special characters in the URLs is that we want to be able to provide localizable urls, as well as the fact that we have had numerous requests to allow for special characters in the URLs. Right now you can change the generated url while you crate the page, however I am going to log such a feature request - to be able to provide rules on url generration.
Best wishes,
