I tried to change the base template for the '2 Sidebars, Header, Footer' Template to one of the example templates available in the 'App_Master' folder. After saving it, I now receive the error '

Content controls have to be top-level controls in a content page or a nested master page that references a master page.

When attempting to change the base template back.

Thank you for using our services.

This is a known issue with changing the base template in the Beta version. This version supports changing the base template to either built in template or one created with the page editor not through master page. We have fixed this issue already and the fix will be applied in one of our later releases.
