Is there any functionality carried over to version 4 that enables list management like version 3.x module. I like what I see but there seems be a bit of backward evolution going on.

Hello nenwmn,

We will not include Lists module in the official version of Sitefinity 4.0. We scheduled implementation for lists module analog after the official release. You could use Generic content module and Generic content list widget.
