just installed beta 2... site under construction?

I just installed Beta 2, created a project, and tried to double click on the project in project manager.

All I get is a page that says Under Construction.

It does this if I go to Browse or "Go to Administration"...

Any suggestions?   The video from Gabe Sumner shows him just double clicking and it starts asking him questions about the db connection, etc.

I got none of that.

Thanks,

Hi Michael,

Could you try to type sitefinity after the host in the browser bar

http://localhost:4000/sitefinity/

i have tried that and still get the under construction.

ive also tried    (sitename)/sitefinity/default.aspx, (sitename)/default.aspx, (sitename)/sitefinity/admin...
all show under construction.
it appears the go to administration redirects to (sitename)/sitefinity/startup which shows under construction.

any other ideas?

installed on winxp machine... net40 installed, ie7

thanks

Hi Michael,

If you use dots or special chars in the name of the project please remove them. You can take a look at the short attached video.

Ivan,

I will try that... thanks for the response...

FYI... I tried to Remove the project that had the (.) in the name and clicked the checkbox to remove the project files.
I got an error... code below...

Ill reply back and let you know if removing the period fixed my problem.

Thanks...

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Hello Michael,

It looks like that the error log - App_Data\Sitefinity\Logs\Error.log has been locked at the time when you have tried to delete the project and this has caused the error. Could you try to unlock the log file or delete it before removing the project through the Project Manager. You could close all applications related to Sitefinity or/and reboot your server to force unlock. Also you do not have to remove the project with dot you can just try to add another one to try my suggestion.
