Site Replication: Local private, Hosted public
I have a client wanting to implement a largish and complex site, who is interested in SF 4.0
One of their requirements is that there be two copies of the site:
1. Local private, where the main CMS is available to authorized staff, to allow for high-performance site management.
2. Hosted public, where the main CMS is NOT available, to reduce their security exposure.
Obviously this implies automatically pushing file updates and database changes, from the local private copy of the site, to the hosted public copy of the site... which, in itself, is no simple requirement.
However, further complicating the issue is that they also need to allow "members" of the site to upload files and/or private content (such as personal blogs, forums) which, in-turn, need to be replicated back to the master site.
My head is hurting already... but is this even possible to achieve with SF 4.0 ??
Hello MB,
We have plans to implement synchronization between staging and production , but we will not be able to do this for the official release. For the time being the only way to do this is using a third party tools for database replication and schema comparison.
