New Widget Template for download list

Hi there,
I am trying to create a new widget template for a download list. I copied the content from existing widget and created a new one. Now, how can I assign this new template to the download list control on my page?
Also, I realized a changing in names for widget template Field "Area". Formerly "Documents", now "Documents & Files". Is this correct and, if yes, has this any influence on the expected behaviour?

Hello Patrick,

You can change the template from LayoutTemplate property from the configuration or using the control designer of the template where you will find LayoutTemplatePath property.

The label has been changed, because you can upload other files than documents - say zip archive.

yes I know how to change appearence in control designer, but I need two or more different layouts for the download list. E.g. for news I am able to make a new design template and asign it to the news control. As many as I want. How can I achieve this for a download list without my own ascx controls as LayoutTemplate?

Hi Pat,

The designer of DowloadList control allows you to manage only the built-in template. To use a custom template per control instance you have to set  LayoutTemplatePath of the control in its Advanced section. We have not exposed an option in DownloadListDesigner that lists custom templates you have created.
