Remote Administration

I've install Sitefinity 4.0 on a local server and am able to administrate the site if I'm using localhost on the server.  However if I try to reach the adminitrative pages through another computer (e.g. http://servername/sitename/Sitefinity/Administration/Users) I just get the default "Under construction" page.  Is it possible to remote manage Sitefinity sites and if so what am I missing?

Hello Thomas,

We are doing this on a daily basis and we haven't had any issues with accessing the backend of Sitefinity from another computer. My suggestion is to try to explicitly hit the backend entry page e.g. http://servername/Sitefinity and log in, then check whether the problem persists.

Please let us know whether your issue is resolved, and do not hesitate to contact us again.

All the best,

I have the same problem, except when I hit http://domain/Sitefinity/ I get redirected to domain/.../Startup

What have I done wrong?

Hello James,

Have you initialized Sitefinity once? Means, have you set the database and the administrator's account, prior to uploading the project to your domain?

Best wishes,
