Adding additional fields to Content-based modules

In 3.7 it was pretty simple to add additional fields to content-based modules like news, events, blogs, etc.  Is there a way to do this in 4.0 as well?  If so, where can this be done?

Now that I have added custom fields, can I access those through the NewsManager?

Hello Alex,

Yes you ca use the content based managers to access those values. You should get the news items as you would normally do. Then you should use GetValue() and SetValue() extension methods to read and write to those fields.
