Amazon S3 Advantages / Disadvantages - Sitefinity - General Discussions

Good day to you all

I am reading that some of you are missing the Amazone S3 possibilites.

Up to now I have been hosting in Switzerland with an SQL Server 2008.
I am currently trying out a US hoster with SQL Express 2008 (unlimited space - I guess as long as you dont use it unlimetd :-)

I was under the impression that perfomance wise it would make sense to have the DB as close to the webserver as possible.

So I was wondering what the adantages of using Amaone S3 would be. Is it simple a question of price. If I read it correct you get one GB of space for 15 cent. Is this correct.

Looking forward to feedback from users of Amazo S3.

- Also in terms of performance
- Data backup
- and whatever comes to your mind.

Anyone on this?

Or is Amazone S3 just for one or two people importent with large videos. If this is the case I hope Telerik has other priorites before working on this.
