Workflow - Question about Edit before Approval?

We implemented the default approval workflow process (submit for approval -> publish) and ran into something that may be an issue for us.  Once you submit a content piece for approval, if you are the person you created the content, shouldn't you be able to edit or delete the content prior to an approver looking at it?  If not, is there any easy way to modify this?

Hello Chris,

Thank you for contacting Telerik support.

This behaviour is by design. You cannot change or delete an item which is waiting for approval.  You can edit and send an item for approval again if it is already Published or Rejected.

Custom workflow feature will allow you to make all kinds of changes and modifications in the workflow behavior. This feature is included in Professional and Enterprise editions of Sitefinity.

Hi Antoaneta,

We're evaluating the Professional edition.  Is any documentation available yet on how to integrate these workflows?  I know it's all built on WF, but some examples would really help.  Thanks!

Hello Chris,

You can take a look at the bellow two blog post which deal with custom workflows. We are currently in the process of building developer documentation for this.

Is there a blog post or tutorial explaining how to make a Custom Workflow that allows a sender to edit or cancel an approval request for an item that has already been sent for approval and is locked from being edited by the sender as mentioned at the beginning of this thread?

It seems like a fairly common scenario for a custom workflow.
