tab navigation - error when trying to create

I'm trying to add a tab navigation to my master page in design mode and it's kicking back an error:

Exception of type 'System.Web.HttpUnhandledException' was thrown.


I can create other menu types fine, but not the tab option

ideas?

I am not sure which control you actually use? Is this "NavigationControl" with a mode or you have a custom control.

Exception of type 'System.Web.HttpUnhandledException' was thrown. means that there is some problem on the server and the server side code produces an error. If it is a custom control you can run start the VS debugger to see from where the errors comes from.

is the 'out of the box' sitefinity navigation control set to Tab style. Nothing custom about it, its the sitefinity control
