Upgrading from 3.7

Hi everyone,

This seems like a simple thing to do but we are running into problems upgrading 3.7 to 4.0.

I downloaded the new Project Manager and I'm trying to create a new project with my 3.7 files to then run the upgrade. However it is asking for a .lic for the project. I downloaded the license from my control panel and it is .xml format.

How can I add my 3.7 project to the manager and upgrade?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Hi Chris Hayward,

Thank you for contacting us.

You can use Sitefinity Migration Tool to upgrade your project to Sitefinity 4.0. Make sure to backup first. Please review the upgrade documentation here.

Sitefinity 4.0 works with license files which have the extension .lic. This license file is needed by Sitefinity because it shows that particular domain is associated with the website.  Please contact our sales team to arrange the details around the migration of your 3.x licenses to 4.0

Kind regards,
