Is there a difference between users and members?

Looking at the Sitefinity CMS, I'm not sure how it would handle member registration. The Users and Roles sections of the CMS seem to be for managing CMS users. But what if you want to use Sitefinity to build a community, how would visitors to the site be able to register, where could you manage these registrations in the backend and how can you configure the personalization?

Thanks!

Hello Michiel,

No, there is no difference between users and members. Users is simply a Sitefinity term for members. If you are to build a community, you could create a new role, let's say "CommunityMembers" and assign all the users that register through public pages to that role. This also means, that these users wouldn't count towards the user limitations Sitefinity imposes on different editions.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes,
