Password Protect a Site

Hi

whats the recommended way to protect a SF from visitors with a password  or a single user account?
I'd like to have one login for many users. But I don't want to give each user a single account?

I just want that not everybody can see the site and its content.

Hi Boas,

One login means one user and  one password for it. If the user and the password are not listed on the website you should send them to users that you want to grant access. These users should be public users. For each object ( page, widget, layout element) you can set permissions, so that this account will not have access to the backend.

Thanks for your reply.
Thats the way i did it with SF 3.x but now in SF4 the site tells me that someone else is logged in and has to be logged out.
Is there any way to deactivate this feature?

Hello Boas,

It is not possible to disable this feature, since it is part of the new licensing. You should explicitly log out the user and release a slot for you.
