Upgrading Sitefinity 3.5, 3.6 and 3.7 without project files

I have inherited several Sitefinity they are a mix of 3.5, 3.6 and 3.7 sites. They need to be upgraded to 4.x.  I don't have access to the original project files to perform the upgrade.  Is there a way to recreate the project files or to do the upgrade with out the project files.

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

You could try open the sites in VS.NET 2010 as "web site" - File -> Open -> Web Site... and then point to the URL of your site. Still you will need to be able to access the web.config file so you could modify it for the Migration service that needs to be installed on the 3.7 project.

What need to be modified in the web.config?  Could you post a snippet of what to modify.

Thanks,

Hello Mark,

Please note in order to upgrade you need to cover the requirements mentioned here. You will have to upgrade your sites to 3.7. Refer to the video and the documentation in the link provided so you can see which files you will need in order to get the projects upgraded successfully.
