Hide Blog Post Dates and Author Info

How can I eliminate the date and author name from my blog posts?

do you mean you do not wish to show these fields in the public blogs page? You can acheive this by modifying the Widget Templates under the Design menu of the Sitefinity Administration Backend. Simply remove the fields you do not wish to show on the front end.

I recommend you create a new template and copy in the markup from an existing one just in case you want to revert to the previous version or want to show these fields on perhaps another instance of the blog posts.
