Sitefinity 3.2 - Taking over management of CMS

We are in the process of taking over management of a website deployed on Sitefinity 3.2. We have high-level ASP and ASP.NET expertise in house, and extensive experience with a variety of CMS. None with Sitefinity (yet).

What are appropriate questions to ask of the current vendor that will save us time down the road as we begin managing the site? Specifically, we're interested in customization or extension of functionality that might be difficult to track down.

Hi Max,

First I suggest that you should upgrade to Sitefinity 3.7 SP4, because the version you are going to use is 3 years old and there are many fixes and API changes. You should take a look at our available support resources.

We will recommend upgrade to 3.7 to client.

We will be needing to deploy a "staging" or development version of the site in order to begin working on this project.

- What are our options in terms of licensing for such a deployment?
- Where can we download Sitefinity 3.2 so we can use the staging environment as a test case for 3.7 SP4 upgrade?

Hi Max,

1. The license key is valid for a single domain, its subdomains and child application hosted under this domain. The trial message does not appear if you use IP to access the server or you have internal server with host name "localhost"

2. You should have Sitefinity 3.x installations under Downloads section of the account used to purchase the edition you currently have.

Best wishes,
