Sitefinity and MARS

We are trying to figure out why sometimes our pages will load in 1-2 seconds and sometimes it takes up to 20-30.  We are seeing the GET response of the first item (the actual page html) be anywhere from 400ms and up to almost a minute.

Our network admins are tracking the data going between the web server and DB server and are noticing a large amount of MARS headers and header requests.  Some online have suggested that MARS will slow down applications not intended to use it.

Should we be seeing this type of traffic between the MS SQL server and the web server, and what could be done to speed up the response from the DB?

Windows Server 2008
SQL server 2005

Hello Anthony,

We are currently working on a solution which will decrease the amount of DB activity and the amount of the requests you are seeing. We have made improvements in that area with the latest service pack 2. 4.2 is about to be released soon, and will address these issues.
