Upgrade from 4.1 to 4.2 - Sitefinity - General Discussions

Need help with upgrade. We currently have a site running 4.1 that we would like to upgrade to 4.2, problem is we had to remove the project manager from a server and do not currently have the 4.1 project manager running.

Is there a way to manually upgrade the 4.1 website to the new 4.2 version or do we need to only go through the project manager?

The project manager is a pain to deal with... I'm no Sitefinity guru, but I don't know of any other way to upgrade project.
That said, note that you need the 4.2 project manager, not the 4.1 one.

FYI, just copy the files from "bin" and "ClientBin" from _EmptyProject to your site, and you're good to go (Maybe the services directory too)

I did need to copy over some additional things (Sitefinity folder, some root pages) but overall this copy files method did the trick.
