Email Notifications for Comments in 4.2?
Is there a way in Sitefinity 4.2 to set it so that an administrator or author receives an email notification when a comment has been posted?
Hello Amanda Shafer,
Unfortunately there isn't an easy way to implement that. You can inherit the CommentsDetailsView class and implement your custom logic that is executed upon clicking the Submit comment button. Right now the logic simply creates the comment and assigns it to the content item. Other than that there isn't an out of the box setting that would let setup some email account that would receive notifications when a new comment is sent.

Thank you, Lubomir. Could you add this to the list of suggestions for future improvement, if it is not already there?
Hi Amanda Shafer,
I believe there is something like this in the works. Anyway, I'll make sure it is added to the feature request for some of the next versions.
Thank you for your suggestion.
