NewsView not working?

Hi all,

I have setup a complete new Sitefinity installation. Created some templates and on one page added a NewsView control. I want the details of a newsitem appear on an auto generated page.

This however doesn't work. If I click a newsItem on the newslist page, the page refreshed, but nothing happens.

What am I forgetting, what goes wrong and how to debug this? (without having to rebuild my whole website in a new installation...)

Hi Daniel,

Do you have another ContentView based control on the page? If you add the control on a single page without other controls and see of the issue will appear. I remember that we had similar issue if there is some special char in the title, but this should be sorted out in the latest build.

You're right! The problem occurs when there is a period at the end of the newsitem title?
Now the workaround is pretty simple, but in my opinion a 'period' should be allowed in a title, right?

Hello Daniel Plomp,

This issue has been resolved and will be released with the SP1 release that is due in the beginning of the next week. It is related to all titles ending with dots (e.g. ellipsis).
