Hi,

About SF 4.2 SP1: "Publication for content and pages can be set to a date in the past"

Could you clarify, is this only by code, and not through the backend? Because I expected dates to be editable in the backend, and couldn't find anything.

Thanks.

Hi Thomas,

Slavo has posted a blog on this very topic, showing how to do it in both the front end user interface as well as using code with the regular and fluent API.

Take a look at this article: How to Publish Content Items in the Past

Hope this is helpful!

Hi,

Oh, okay. I saw that link in the backend, but ignored it because I thought it was just workflow related.

Thanks for your help.

NB: a bug to watch out for.

First, labels have changed compared to the article. It's now "Schedule Publish/Unpublish", not "Publish/Unpublish on Specific Date". The bug is that once you've changed the date, clicked "Done", then clicked "Save", you should not touch anything anymore, and wait to be redirected. What I used to do was click "Publish" after clicking "Save", which leads to an error. You have enough time to do other actions after saving the date, and nothing is disabled, which is bad.
