Media files stored on akamai

It is possible to have all files for the media library (or at least videos) uploaded to a CDN (preferably akamai). Does such functionality already exists or how would I go about creating a custom uploader and integrate uploaded assets into the media library?

thank you

Hi Tomas,

There is not yet functionality that will allow uploading from Sitefinity to file storage outside the server infrastructure. Media files are uploaded in the database or saved locally. This is because Sitefinity upload controls are currently managing the upload and then selection of items from media libraries. The media libraries currently list only contents available in the database. You can integrate links to videos stored at a remote server in the site, but if you want to list all videos using Sitefinity media selector dialogs they will list only the contents from libraries.
As an alternative to selecting remotely stored videos you may create a custom control that will connect to akamai and list the available videos available for selection.
