Categories and tags for content blocks

Is there a way to enable categories and/or tags for regular content blocks? I see that shared content blocks have categories and tags but we would like to also be able to utilize categories and tags for generic content blocks.

Classifications are mostly used for filtering of content. Since content blocks are not content, the content inside is, there is no place for taxonomies. You can always click "Share this content" on any content block and then associate this content with tags and categories.
