Login / log out widget only works with administrator role?

hi, i noticed the login / log out button only displays "Log out" when logged in with an user account with administrator role. When logged in as a customer(e-commerce) or backend user it displays "Log in" however if you click "Log in" it actually logs the user out.

The setup Im using is a login / log out button on the home page -> LoginUrl to a separate login page with Login widget -> DestinationPageUrl and LoginAction Redirect back to home page

My question is did i miss any configuration settings? or the two widget wasnt designed  to function that way.
Edit: Maybe its related to  http://www.sitefinity.com/devnet/forums/sitefinity-4-x/bugs-issues/odditiy-with-cache-and-login-name-status-widget.aspx

Hi Jack,

Do you refer to the default Login widget or do you mean some place else, e.g. the Backend login form? Could you please give us more details about what location of your project you mean?

Sorry, im using the login/log out button widget under the login section on the home page which allows the user to log in / out depending out their status which brings them into a separate page with the login widget which redirects them back to home page when logged in.

Hi Jack,

Yes, this is the exact same issue. It looks like Sitefinity is caching the the login status and unless you recycle the pool after a non-administrator user is logged in the status will display as "Log in" even though there are authentication cookies in the browser. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Kind regards,
