I am running Sitefinity on a remote server as well as on my local machine. I am also make changes and build the app locally in Visual Studio.

Do I need to have Visual Studio on the remote as well in order to build the app there?

I am running into a "Could not load type 'SitefinityWebApp...." error.

Please advise.

Thanks,
Gregory

Hello Gregory,

You can have the project locally and build it locally, then after a successful build deploy it on the remote server. This is the general approach when building web applications. You don't need to have visual studio installed on the remote mashine for that.
