Breadcrumb widgets adding an extra "Product" to ur

Since sitefinity 4.4 doesn't have it own breadcrumb control we have decided to make our own control to take care of bread crumbs. The issue is on the third level down sitefinity keeps adding an extra products to the url. For example in our attach "Open Transport Carts" should have a url of "irsg.com/.../open-transport-carts" but instead its "irsg.com/.../open-transport-carts".

We have also tried using a separate third party breadcrumb control, so a bug innate to our in house breadcrumb can be ruled out.

I would wait on this :)  In the webinar on "Whats new in 5.0" a couple weeks ago (in the comments area) someone from telerik posted that we're finally getting a breadcrumbs control.  So we should have 5.0 released early next week ...
