Copy of sitefinity for development

Hi all,

I am needing to know what are the key tables that need to be identical from production and test to make test work. I have Sitefinity installed in a test database, but for some reason, some of my controls don't behave or show up in the test database. If I point to the live sitefinity database through the config file, and point to my test controls, everything works just fine. This tells me the problem is in the Sitefinity differences, and I really wouldn't like to start from zero. I know I am very close, but would like to know what the core tables are that could cause a control to misbehave.

Thanks for your help and guidance.

You want to make sure your ~/App_Data/Sitefinity/Configuration folder is the same between the two...that's where the control config definitions are stored.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your quick reply. I don't have a Sitefinity folder or configuration inside of AppData. I have version 3.6. Could this have something to do with it?

When I try copying all rows to the test database, the binaries table doesn't let me copy all of it.

Any other ideas?

Thanks!
