Error: An Item with the URL '(Today's Date)'/Event Title already exists error

When I try to create evens that occur on a monthly basis I get the following error:Error: An Item with the URL '/2012/03/30/Event Title' already exists error.

I there a way to have it write the actual event date of to the database so that I do not get this error?

Please refer to this post on custom URL formats. You'll use the instructions for "A basic module with one content type".

For the URL Format, I think this will help you:

/[EventStart, 0:yyyy'/'MM'/'dd]/[UrlName]
