How do you use a custom classification to filter a content v

We've created a custom classification (a flat taxonomy) and added it as a custom field to a document library. Now we want to use the Download List to show only documents in that libarary that have been classified with a certain term from our custom classification.

Looking at the settings for the download list, it appears we can only filter by the built-in catetory and tags taxonomies along with date. Is this true, or are we just missing something in the advanced settings somewhere? We'd hate to have to build a totally custom control just to actually be able to use what we consider to be such a great new feature (custom classifications).

Again to summarize, we would like to filter a download list by a term from a custom classification rather than be limited to the built-in categories and tags.
