Hello,

I'm working on a custom widget for a client of ours. I've made a new widget designer using sitefinity thunder and manually made a dropdown list with the options that are supposed to be chosen.

The problem is that (in this case) the german word 'für' isn't correctly showing up in the backend of the widget.
The word as displayed in the designer:


And the word as displayed in the backend of the widget:


Since our widget relies on the excact same word as the title of a classification this causes the widget to crash.

I've already added the following line to our webconfig:

but this doesn't fix the problem. Are there any settings I'm missing?

Hey Rick,

Try using ü instead of 'ü'.

That will always avoid any enconding issues between UTF-8 or ISO8859 and makes sure that you don't run into any sql collation issues.
