System Requirements for MVC in Sitefinity 5.1

There are multiple 'modes' for integrating MVC Sitefinity 5.1: Classic, Pure, Hybrid, as well as the non-MVC WebForms mode.

Has any research been done to determine if there are noticeable or significant differences in these modes from a performance / system requirements perspective? Can I choose which mode I want based on my programming preferences, or do I have performance differences to consider in doing so?

I assume there are some minor performance differences between the modes, but if they are negligible, I'll be happy to focus on other requirements in determining which mode fits our needs best.
