MVC “Content Block” Widget?

We are moving all our controls to MVC and would love to move our templates to be in MVC mode.

The only problem with this is that we lose all the cool Sitefinity out of the box widgets.

Will Telerik release MVC widgets?

How can I get a content block widget in my MVC page?

In Classic MVC mode, you are on your own. In Pure MVC mode, you can use any MVC widgets that "you have developed". If you would like to use the built in widgets, such as a content block, you will need to select either the Hybrid MVC mode or the classic Web Forms mode.

However, you could develop your own MVC widget version of the Content Block. Follow this video tutorial on how to create an MVC news widget, but substitute the content APIs instead.

Unless you want to create your own MVC content block widget using the existing content APIs, I would recommend Hybrid mode.

I would assume that Telerik (or someone in the marketplace) will eventually make an MVC widget for the common features such as a content block, but you may always have to use hybrid mode for some of them.
