News widget list box jumps with pagination

We have included a small list box on our home page that offers snippets of the most recent news. The box is located in a lower part of the home page, this box also includes pagination for ease of browsing, each time a new page is pressed the whole page refreshes and jumps to the top of the page.  My question is how can this be avoided
