Arabic and Chinese content blocks

I would like to be able to display Arabic and Chinese Traditional content blocks on my site. 
Bearing in mind it is an english site and everything will be in english just a few content blocks here and there will be in other languages with other characters.
The problem i am experiencing is that the arabic version does not work.
When i paste the arabic into my content block it just comes up with a bunch of random characters. Works fine for every other language, including Chinsese Traditional and Simplified.
