Counting Content Items in Small Business

We have a number of customer on the Small Business license. A few of them are increasing their content by quite a bit, but want to understand when they need to think about purchasing the Standard license, and not suddenly be surprised by one day being unable to add any more content!

At the moment the only option seems to be manually counting. I also found this relating to an old version, and also seems pretty clunky. www.sitefinity.com/.../sitempa-page-content-item-count

Am I missing something? Is there a nice way of seeing how many content items you have that are counting towards the small business limit?

For Sitefinity 5.1+ you can use the free admin Dashboard from Falafel.
It shows a number of stats like Content stats, media stats, etc.

Alternatively, you can check the attached webform. It has the code that counts the content items. From there feel free to create a custom widget that shows the number of the content items and place it in the dashboard.
