I have seen posts about 4.x being forms authentication, but I have also see posts about transitioning 4.x to 5.x not switching to claims authentication.
What is Sitefinity 5.2's default authentication mode?

Claims Based Authentication is default
Found my own answer under Administration -> Basic -> User Authentication
