Replace search widget with Google site search

I am trying to replace the existing search feature (the search widgets)  in a website made with Sitefinity with a Google site search. I was able to put the search box on the master page using the code I copied for the custom search engine, but now I need it to display the results the the site's own results page.

I've never used Sitefinity before, and any help would be appreciated. If there's some sort of step-by-step guide for this exact thing, I could really use one.

Thanks.

I think I may have found my solution...

I had already put the code for the Google custom search engine  in my .master file, but the existing search box sent the query string with "searchQuery=", and Google's search looks for "q=".

So using what I found in this post, I changed the query string from "searchQuery=" to "q=" and it seems to work perfectly.
